In the international arena, the Yarra Valley is regarded as one of the true premium wine producing areas.
Yileena Park is dedicated to furthering this reputation and is uncompromising in the production of its unique boutique wines.
2003 was a low yielding, warm and dry vintage in the Yarra Valley. Throughout the vintage, the weather conditions were temperate and dry. The Yileena Park vineyard enjoyed and uninterrupted, warm ripening period ensuring the development of classic cool climate flavours and balanced acidity.
This cool vintage, multi-layered, medium-bodied Merlot exhibits aromas of blackberry, mulbury and plum. This is further complemented by savory spicy oak.
The palate is rich and soft with velvety fine grained tannins and a long fresh lingering finish.
The wine is made from hand-picked estate grown fruit and will reward medium term cellaring to this decade's end. Drinking beautifully now.
